Bakeries work in Laredo
Laredo searches for bakery work all year, and the demand splits along the same lines the city does. The west side and the older central blocks carry the long standing panaderias, the ones families have used for decades, and those names get searched by name. The newer growth on the north side and out toward Loop 20 brings in households that moved recently and search by need instead, for a quinceanera cake, a tres leches, a tray of conchas for an office. The international traffic matters here in a way it does not in most cities. Shoppers crossing from Nuevo Laredo search for bakeries near the bridge and for places that take an order in Spanish. Franchise cupcake and cookie counters have opened along the retail corridors, and they compete on brand terms, while owner operators compete on occasion and on neighbourhood. That is the demand available: named searches for a specific kind of cake, a specific neighbourhood and a specific date.
