Bed and Breakfasts work in Abilene
Abilene is a city of around 125,000 people on the edge of West Texas, and its bed and breakfast trade is small and spread out. A handful of owner operated inns and guest houses serve the city, most of them in the older residential streets near downtown and around the Dyess Air Force Base side of town. The searches come from two directions: visitors looking for a room for a night or a weekend, and families and crews in town for events at Abilene Christian University, Hardin Simmons and the Taylor County Expo Center. Paid search in this trade is modest, and the businesses taking it are almost all owner operators rather than franchises. The demand is there, steady and local, and it rewards the properties whose websites answer the questions people type before they book.
