Exhibit A
Financial Advisors work in Gresham
Gresham is a city of around 114,000 people east of Portland, and the advice searches that come out of it are local ones: rolling over a 401(k) after leaving a job, planning for retirement while still working, finding someone who will sit down and explain an annuity. The firms competing for those searches are mostly small independent practices and single advisors working under their own name, alongside a few bank and credit union branches that offer planning appointments. Paid search in this trade is expensive because a single client can be worth years of fees, so the paid slots tend to be held by larger regional firms bidding on broad terms. That leaves the specific, local searches, the ones that name Gresham, a neighbourhood or a nearby town, as the demand worth owning through publishing.
