Grocery Stores work in West Jordan
West Jordan is a city of around 115,000 people, and grocery demand here follows the households rather than the other way round. The city grew fast through the 1990s and 2000s, so most of its housing sits in subdivisions west of the Jordan River and along the Bangerter Highway corridor, and those neighbourhoods carry the everyday searches: a store near a particular address, a delivery slot, a weekly ad. National chains hold most of the shelf space in the city, and the paid search around grocery terms is largely theirs, bid up around store hours, weekly specials and delivery. That leaves the independent and specialty side of the trade, the ethnic markets, the produce stands, the butcher counters and the small format stores, competing on the searches that name a need rather than a brand. Those searches are local, they repeat, and they are the ones a store can own with pages that answer them.
