Hotels work in Athens
Athens draws visitors all year, and the hotels trade here follows the flights and the ferries. Demand splits between the historic centre, where leisure travellers book around the Acropolis and Plaka, and the coastal strip towards Glyfada and the airport corridor, where stopover and business guests stay. The city has a deep stock of small owner run hotels alongside the international chains, and the smaller properties compete for the same searches with far less budget. Paid search in this trade is expensive in the centre, so organic and AI search results carry a large share of the bookings that come from people who have not chosen a hotel yet. The searches are made in English, Greek, French and German, often months before arrival and again in the last days before a stay.
