Keyword Research for Lawyers

Most law firms write about the law. Their clients search for their problem. HaloSEO finds the phrases your market already uses and turns them into a publishing plan.

The phrases clients search, not the phrases the trade uses

Lawyers describe their work in the language of the profession. Clients describe it in the language of their week. Someone with a boundary dispute does not search for a property litigation solicitor. They search for what to do when a neighbour moves the fence. HaloSEO connects to your website and looks at the phrases that already earn traffic in your market and that you have no page for. Those phrases become subjects in the planner. You are not handed a list to interpret. You are handed the next things to publish.

A worked example

Say you are a firm in a mid sized town and you handle family law. HaloSEO might find that people in your area search for how to change a child arrangement order, and that you have no page on it. The planner takes that phrase as a subject. The post it writes explains the process in plain English, says what the court expects, and notes when to get advice. It links to your existing page on child arrangements and to your contact page. It publishes on your site. The subject came from a phrase your market already searches, not from a guess about what sounds useful.

What local intent means for lawyers

For most firms the client is within driving distance. That changes what a phrase means. Someone searching for a divorce solicitor is asking a general question. Someone searching for a divorce solicitor plus the name of your town is asking whether you exist and whether you can see them. Local intent for lawyers is often about the practical details: where you are, whether you cover their area, whether they can park, whether you offer an initial call. A post built on a local phrase should answer those things directly. It should also be honest about the areas you actually serve. A page that claims a town you do not cover does not help the reader.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want a keyword tool to search in. HaloSEO is not that. The output is the publishing plan, not a report you work through yourself. It is not right for a firm that cannot publish regularly, because the plan only helps if the posts go out. It is not right for a firm that wants a guaranteed position on Google. Nobody can promise that, and we do not. It is also not right for a firm whose work comes entirely from referrals and who has no interest in being found in search.
