Squarespace Integration for Sports Clubs

HaloSEO connects to your Squarespace site once and publishes finished posts to it. The posts appear as normal posts, in your own theme, on your own domain.

The words your members and parents actually type

Sports clubs often describe themselves in trade language. They write about junior development pathways, facility hire agreements and club governance. The people searching are not using those words. A parent types kids football club near me or Sunday morning swimming lessons for children. An adult types five a side pitch hire or beginner tennis coaching adults. A visitor types what time is the match on Saturday or club with a bar and function room. HaloSEO researches the phrases people actually search in your area and builds the posts around those, not around the words your committee uses in meetings.

A worked example

Say you run a club with junior football, a floodlit all weather pitch and a clubhouse. One post could be titled Junior football training sessions in [your town] for ages 6 to 11. It would cover which age groups you take, what a first session looks like, what kit a child needs, what it costs, when sessions run and how a parent signs up. It would link to your membership page and your contact page. HaloSEO writes that post, publishes it to your Squarespace site as a normal post in your theme, and links it to related posts on the site. You review nothing unless you want to. The post sits on your domain, not ours.

What local intent means for a sports club

Almost every search for a club has a place attached to it. People search by suburb, by town, by the name of the park or leisure centre, and by the school their child attends. They also search by travel: club near the train station, or club with parking. Local intent for a club means the post has to name the place, the venue and the surrounding areas plainly, so a search engine can tell which town the club serves. It also means answering the practical questions people ask before they turn up: where to park, what to wear, whether there is a spectator area, and whether the bar is open after the match.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for a club that wants a blog hosted somewhere else. HaloSEO publishes to your Squarespace site and does not host the blog for you. It is not right for a club that wants a plugin to install and manage, because there is no plugin. It is not right for a club that wants HaloSEO to change other parts of the Squarespace site, such as the homepage, the fixtures page or the membership form, because it does not touch anything else. And it is not right for a club that wants a guaranteed position on Google or a set number of visitors by a set date. We do not control search engines and we will not promise that.
