Generate Backlinks
HaloSEO builds backlinks for your site as part of the same workflow that researches, writes and publishes your posts. Here is what you see on screen at each step, and what to do when a step needs a second attempt.
Start the backlink run
Open the Generate Backlinks screen from your connected site. The screen shows your site name and a short summary of the posts HaloSEO has already published for you. Select the posts you want links built for, or leave the default selection in place. Press Start. The screen confirms the run has begun and shows the first step as active.
Step one: research the link targets
The screen shows a progress line for target research. HaloSEO reads the topic of each selected post and works out which kinds of pages and sites fit that topic. As targets are found they appear in a list with the post they match. The step shows as complete when the list is filled, and the screen moves you on to the next step on its own.
Step two: prepare the link content
The screen shows the posts being matched to their targets, one row per link. Each row shows the post title, the target and the anchor text HaloSEO has drafted. You can open any row to read the anchor text and the surrounding copy. When every row is ready the step closes and the screen moves to placement.
Step three: place the links and track them
The screen shows each link moving through placement, with a status against every row. Rows that complete show as placed. The run finishes with a summary of how many links were placed for each post. You can return to this screen at any time to see the current status of every link in the run.
If a step needs a second attempt
A row that does not complete shows a retry control next to its status. Select retry and HaloSEO runs that row again from the step it stopped at, without touching the rows that already finished. If a whole step stops, the screen offers a resume control that picks the run up at that step. You can also change the target on a single row and retry it, and the rest of the run stays as it is.
