Automatic Indexing for Cloudflare

HaloSEO keeps a sitemap on your own domain up to date as posts go live, so search engines can find new posts without anyone submitting them.

How HaloSEO connects to Cloudflare

You connect your Cloudflare site to HaloSEO and grant it permission to write files to your site. That is the permission it needs. HaloSEO uses it to update the sitemap and the robots.txt file on your domain. It does not need access to your Cloudflare account settings, your DNS records or your billing. If you would rather not grant write access, you can add the sitemap and robots.txt yourself and HaloSEO will publish posts without touching them.

What a published post looks like on a Cloudflare site

Posts are published in your site's own theme. They use your templates, your fonts, your colours and your navigation. A reader should not be able to tell which posts HaloSEO wrote from the page layout alone. The post lives at a URL on your domain, not on a HaloSEO subdomain, so links to it point at you.

What happens on Cloudflare that does not happen elsewhere

Cloudflare serves your site from its network, so a new post can be reachable quickly once it is live. HaloSEO updates the sitemap on your domain as each post goes live and keeps robots.txt pointing at it. That is the whole mechanism. HaloSEO does not ping Google, does not use IndexNow and does not submit URLs to Search Console. Discovery is left to search engines reading your sitemap and following links, the same way it works for any site.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If HaloSEO loses write permission, the sitemap stops updating. Posts already published stay live and stay in the sitemap as it last stood. New posts go live but are not added until permission is restored. If robots.txt is edited by hand and the sitemap line is removed, search engines may not find the sitemap. HaloSEO does not detect that for you. If your theme changes and a template breaks, a post can render badly. You will see it on the page, and you can fix the template or ask us to.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want instant indexing, or if you expect a tool to push URLs to Google on your behalf. HaloSEO does not do that. It is also not right for you if you cannot grant write access to your site files and do not want to maintain the sitemap and robots.txt yourself. And it is not right for you if you need a guarantee about when a post will be indexed or where it will rank. We do not control search engines and we do not promise positions, traffic or dates.
