Squarespace
Keyword Research for Squarespace
HaloSEO connects to your Squarespace site, researches the keywords, writes the posts and publishes them in your own theme. Here is how the connection works and what to expect.
How HaloSEO connects to Squarespace
You connect your Squarespace site from your HaloSEO account. Squarespace gives HaloSEO an API key that is tied to your site. You create the key in your Squarespace settings and paste it into HaloSEO. The key lets HaloSEO read your site structure and publish posts to your blog. It does not give HaloSEO access to your billing, your store orders or your domain settings. You can revoke the key in Squarespace at any time, and HaloSEO loses access the moment you do.
What the published post looks like
HaloSEO publishes through the Squarespace blog, so every post uses your site's own theme. Headings, body text, links and images follow the styles you already set. There is no separate HaloSEO template and no widget to install. The post appears in your blog collection like any post you write yourself. You can edit it in the Squarespace editor afterwards, and your edits stay.
What happens on Squarespace that does not happen elsewhere
Squarespace handles blog content through collections, and HaloSEO writes to that structure directly. That means posts land in the right collection with the right URL slug, and they show up in your blog summary blocks and archive pages without extra setup. Squarespace also controls how images are served and resized, so HaloSEO sends the image and Squarespace handles the sizes your theme needs. On other platforms HaloSEO has to manage more of that itself.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
The most common failure is a revoked or expired API key. When that happens, publishing stops and HaloSEO flags the connection in your account. Nothing is published half finished. If Squarespace rejects a post, HaloSEO keeps the draft and shows you the error so you can fix the cause and retry. If your theme changes and a style no longer applies, the post still publishes, but it may look different from what you expected. HaloSEO does not edit your theme.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want to approve every word before it goes live, because HaloSEO is built to publish on its own. It is not right for sites on Squarespace versions that do not offer API keys. It is not right for stores that need product pages written, because HaloSEO publishes blog posts, not commerce content. And it is not right for anyone who wants a guarantee of a ranking or a timeframe, because we do not make those claims.
