Custom API

WordPress Integration for Custom API

HaloSEO connects to your WordPress site once and publishes finished posts to it. This page explains how that connection works when your site runs on a custom API.

How HaloSEO connects to your Custom API

You give HaloSEO access to your WordPress site through its API. The connection is set up once. HaloSEO needs permission to create a post on your site. It does not need permission to change settings, themes, plugins or any other content. If your site uses a custom API layer, the connection still goes through the same route: HaloSEO sends the finished post to your site and your site creates it as a normal post.

What the published post looks like

The post is published on your own domain, in your own theme. It is a normal WordPress post, so it uses the same templates, fonts, layout and styling as everything else on your site. Visitors see it as part of your site, not as a separate blog. HaloSEO does not host the blog and does not serve the page from anywhere else.

What happens on Custom API that does not happen elsewhere

A custom API layer sits between HaloSEO and WordPress. That means your own rules apply to each post before it goes live. If your API adds fields, runs checks or routes posts through your own process, those steps still run. HaloSEO sends the post and your API decides how it lands. There is no plugin to install and no plugin to keep up to date.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If your API rejects the request, the post is not published. If your API is down or the credentials stop working, publishing stops until the connection is fixed. HaloSEO does not change anything else on your WordPress site, so a failed publish leaves the rest of the site as it was. You will need to check the connection and reconnect if needed.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want HaloSEO to host your blog. It does not. It is also not right for you if you want a plugin inside WordPress, because there is no plugin. And it is not right for you if you expect a ranking, a traffic number or a date, because we do not control search engines and we do not promise any of those.
