Custom API

Local SEO for Custom API

HaloSEO writes posts for the phrases people search with a place attached, then publishes them to your Custom API site in your own theme. Here is how the connection works and what it does not do.

How HaloSEO connects to Custom API

You connect your website to HaloSEO and give it access to publish. HaloSEO needs permission to create and update posts on your site, and to read your theme so the posts match it. That is the whole permission. It does not need access to your customers, your orders or your settings. Once connected, HaloSEO researches the keywords, writes the posts and publishes them through the Custom API connection.

What the published post looks like on a Custom API site

The post is published in your site's own theme. It uses your fonts, your colours and your layout, so it reads as part of the site rather than a block pasted on top. Where a post targets a phrase with a place attached, HaloSEO can place a map of the business on the page, built from the address you give it. The post is a normal page on your site. You can edit it, unpublish it or delete it like any other.

What happens on Custom API that does not happen elsewhere

Custom API gives HaloSEO a direct way to publish into your site, so the post goes in as a real page in your theme, not as a file you copy across by hand. The map placement is tied to the business address you provide, and it sits inside the post itself. Nothing else changes. HaloSEO does not post to Google Business Profile, and it does not manage your reviews or your listings. Those stay with you.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If the connection to your site drops, publishing stops. Posts already live stay live. Nothing is deleted. If your theme changes in a way that removes the fields HaloSEO writes to, a post may publish without the layout you expect, and you would need to fix the theme or the connection. If the business address is wrong or missing, the map will not be placed. In each case the fix is on the site or the connection, and HaloSEO does not paper over it.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want someone to run your Google Business Profile, answer reviews or keep your listings in sync across directories. HaloSEO does none of those. It is also not right for you if you need a promised position on Google or a date for results. We do not control search engines and we will not claim a ranking or a timeframe we have not measured. And if your site cannot accept published posts through its API, the connection cannot be made.
