Custom API

AI Search Optimization for Custom API

HaloSEO connects to your Custom API site, researches keywords, writes and publishes posts in your theme, and measures whether AI assistants name your business when asked the questions your customers ask.

How HaloSEO connects to Custom API

You connect your site by giving HaloSEO API access to your Custom API. The permission it needs is write access to your content, so it can create and update posts, plus read access to your existing pages and posts so it can research what you already cover and link new posts to it. It does not need access to your customer data, your orders or your admin settings. You can revoke the connection at any time from your Custom API account, and publishing stops when you do.

What a published post looks like on a Custom API site

Posts are published through your Custom API as normal content, so they render in your own theme. Your header, footer, fonts, colours and layout apply. Nothing is injected into your templates and no widget is added to your pages. The post is a page on your site like any other, with a URL on your domain, and it can be edited or deleted in your Custom API admin the same way as any post you write yourself.

What happens on Custom API that does not happen elsewhere

Custom API gives HaloSEO a defined content endpoint, so publishing is a direct write to your own system rather than a workaround through a third party. That means the post lands in your content store with your fields and your structure, and your existing routes and templates pick it up without extra setup. Because the connection is to your API, the same setup covers every part of the site that reads from that content store.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If your API credentials expire or are revoked, publishing stops. HaloSEO does not retry forever and does not post anywhere else. If your API changes shape, for example a field is renamed or a required field is added, a publish can fail, and the post stays in HaloSEO rather than going out half formed. If your site is down, the publish fails and is retried later. In each case the failure is recorded and you can see it. Nothing is published to a place you did not connect.

How the writing is built for AI search

HaloSEO writes so the answer sits in the opening lines of the post, because that is the part an assistant is most likely to read and quote. It also measures whether assistants name your business. It does this by asking them the questions your customers ask and recording the sources they cite. That gives you a record of what is being cited and where you appear. It cannot make an assistant cite anybody, and it does not submit anything to an assistant.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want a guaranteed ranking, a set position, a traffic number or a date. HaloSEO does not control search engines or assistants and does not promise any of those. It is also not right for you if you cannot give API write access to your content, or if every post needs a person to approve it before it goes live. And it is not a replacement for a developer who maintains your Custom API.
