Custom API
Image Generation for Custom API
HaloSEO draws a picture for each post from the article's own subject, in the style you chose, and hosts it on your own storage. This page covers how that works on a Custom API site.
How HaloSEO connects to Custom API
You connect your Custom API site to HaloSEO once. HaloSEO needs permission to publish posts to your site and to write the image files to the storage you point it at. That is the whole permission set. It does not need access to your customer records, your orders or your admin settings. You can revoke the connection from your Custom API side at any time, and publishing stops when you do.
What the published post looks like on a Custom API site
The post is published through your Custom API, so it renders in your site's own theme. Your templates, your fonts, your header and footer, your layout. The image sits where your theme puts a post image. HaloSEO does not ship its own page template and does not override your styles. If your theme has no image slot, the post still publishes and the image is stored but not shown until you add one.
What happens on Custom API that does not happen elsewhere
The image is written to the storage you chose, under your control, not to a HaloSEO bucket. Your Custom API decides where that file lives and how it is served. Because the picture is drawn from the article's own subject, each post gets an image that matches what that post is about, in the style you picked. The image model never receives your business name or any identifying detail.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
If the connection drops, publishing stops and nothing is posted until you reconnect. If your storage rejects the write, the post can still publish without its image, and the image is retried on the next run. If your theme has no image slot, the image is stored but not displayed. HaloSEO does not put text in the picture, so any wording you want on an image has to be added on your side.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want a stock photo library to pick from, or if you need words inside the image itself. It is also not right for you if you cannot give HaloSEO publish access and a storage location on your Custom API site. In those cases the image step will not do what you need, and you should not connect it.
