Custom API
Shopify Integration for Custom API
HaloSEO connects to your Shopify site once and publishes finished posts to it. The posts go out as normal posts, in your own theme, on your own domain.
How the connection works
You connect your Shopify site to HaloSEO once. The connection uses the Custom API, and it needs permission to create and publish posts on your site. That is the only permission it asks for. You do not install a plugin, and you do not keep anything up to date. Once the connection is in place, HaloSEO can send a finished post to your site without you doing anything.
What the published post looks like
The post arrives on your Shopify site as a normal post. It uses your site's own theme, so it looks like the rest of your content. It sits on your own domain, not on a subdomain and not on a separate blog host. Your header, your footer, your fonts and your layout all apply. A reader would not know the post came from anywhere other than your site.
What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere
Shopify stores content in its own way, and the Custom API is how HaloSEO writes into it. The post is created through that API as a standard post, so it lands in the same place as anything you publish yourself. There is no separate blog to host and no plugin layer between HaloSEO and your site. HaloSEO does not host the blog for you, and it does not change anything else on your Shopify site.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
If the connection is revoked or the permission is removed, publishing stops. HaloSEO cannot send new posts until you reconnect. If Shopify changes something on its side that affects the Custom API, a publish can fail, and the post stays in HaloSEO rather than going out half finished. Nothing else on your site is touched in either case. Your existing posts stay where they are.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want HaloSEO to host your blog. It does not. It is also not right for you if you want a plugin you can configure and update yourself, because there is no plugin. And it is not right for you if you need HaloSEO to manage other parts of your Shopify site, such as products, collections or checkout. It only publishes posts.
