Zapier
Shopify Integration for Zapier
HaloSEO connects to a Shopify site once and publishes finished posts to it. This page explains how that connection works and what it does not do.
How HaloSEO connects to Shopify
You connect your Shopify site to HaloSEO once. The connection uses Shopify's own app permission flow, so you approve it from your Shopify admin and you can revoke it there at any time. HaloSEO asks for permission to create and publish blog posts on your store. It does not ask for permission to change products, orders, customers, themes or settings. Once the connection is approved, HaloSEO publishes finished posts to your Shopify blog as normal posts. There is no plugin to install and nothing to keep up to date.
What the published post looks like
The post goes out as a normal Shopify blog post. It uses your site's own theme, so it looks like the rest of your blog. It sits on your own domain, under your own blog URL. Your header, footer, fonts and colours apply. Readers see a page on your site, not a page on ours. HaloSEO does not host the blog for you and does not add a separate subdomain or a widget.
What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere
Shopify stores blog content in its own blog and article structure. HaloSEO writes into that structure directly, so the post appears in your Shopify admin under Blog posts, where you can edit it, tag it or unpublish it like any other post. Because the post is a native Shopify article, it works with the Shopify features your theme already uses, such as blog collections and article tags. Nothing else on your Shopify site is touched. Products, orders, customers, checkout and theme files stay as they are.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
The connection can break. Common causes are revoking the app in Shopify, changing your store password or staff permissions, or a Shopify outage. When the connection breaks, HaloSEO cannot publish. The post stays in HaloSEO and is not lost. We surface the failure so you can reconnect from your Shopify admin. Nothing on your Shopify site is changed or removed by a failed publish. If a post publishes but you want it gone, delete or unpublish it in Shopify as you would any other post.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want HaloSEO to host your blog. It does not. It is not right for you if you need a plugin inside Shopify, because there is none. It is not right for you if you want posts published somewhere other than your Shopify blog, or if you want HaloSEO to change your products, theme or store settings. It is also not right for you if you expect a guaranteed ranking, a set position or a traffic number by a set date. We do not control search engines and we do not promise any of those.
