Shopify Integration for Shopify

HaloSEO connects to your Shopify store, writes and publishes posts into your own theme, and handles the keyword research, internal links and backlinks around them.

How HaloSEO connects to Shopify

You install the HaloSEO app from the Shopify App Store and approve the access request. HaloSEO asks for permission to read your store settings and to create and edit blog articles. It does not ask for orders, customers, payments or theme code. The connection is made once. After that HaloSEO publishes on its own schedule and you can revoke access from your Shopify admin at any time.

What a published post looks like

Posts are created as normal Shopify blog articles, so they render inside your existing theme. Your header, footer, fonts, colours and navigation stay as they are. HaloSEO writes the article body, the title, the handle, the meta description and the image alt text. It also sets the blog and tags so the post lands in the right collection. Nothing is injected into your theme files and no custom template is required.

What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere

Shopify stores usually run a small number of blogs, often just News or Blog, and the article URL sits under that blog handle. HaloSEO reads your existing blog structure first and publishes into the blog you choose rather than creating new ones. It also handles Shopify's article handle rules, which differ from WordPress slugs, and it links posts to your product and collection pages so the article points at pages that can actually sell.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The common failures are an expired app permission, a deleted blog, a handle that clashes with an existing article, or a theme change that removes the blog template. When a publish fails, HaloSEO retries, then marks the post as failed and shows the reason in the dashboard. It does not publish a partial article. If access is revoked, scheduled posts pause and resume when you reconnect. You get an email when a post fails twice.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want to approve every sentence before it goes live, if your store has no blog and you do not want one, or if you sell in a language HaloSEO does not write. It is also not right if you need posts published within minutes of signing up. HaloSEO researches and writes before it publishes, so the first post takes time.
