Squarespace Integration for Wix

HaloSEO publishes to Wix through the Wix connection. This page explains how the link is made, what lands on your site, and what to expect when something goes wrong.

How HaloSEO connects to Wix

You connect Wix from the HaloSEO dashboard. Wix asks you to approve access, and you sign in to your Wix account to do it. HaloSEO asks for permission to read your site structure and to create and edit blog posts. It does not ask for billing access, store orders, or member data. The connection is tied to the Wix site you pick during approval. If you run more than one Wix site, connect each one separately. You can revoke access from your Wix account at any time, and publishing stops as soon as you do.

What a published post looks like on Wix

HaloSEO publishes into the Wix blog. The post uses your site's own theme, fonts, colours and layout, so it looks like every other post you have written. It carries your header and footer. The title, body, images and meta description are filled in. Internal links point to pages on your site. You can open the post in the Wix editor and change anything after it goes live. HaloSEO does not install a separate template or a widget on your site.

What happens on Wix that does not happen elsewhere

Wix keeps its own blog editor, and every HaloSEO post arrives there as a normal draft or published post. That means your team can edit in the tool they already use. Wix also handles the URL structure and the sitemap for the post, so HaloSEO does not need to touch either. If your Wix site uses a custom domain, posts publish on that domain. Scheduling follows the Wix blog scheduler, so a post set for a future time appears when Wix publishes it, not before.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The connection can break if you change your Wix password, revoke access, or move the site to a new Wix account. When that happens, HaloSEO cannot publish. The post stays in your HaloSEO queue and is marked as failed, and you get a notice in the dashboard. Reconnect Wix and the queued post publishes on the next run. If a post publishes but looks wrong on your site, the cause is usually a theme change made after the connection. Fix it in the Wix editor, or tell us and we will look at the connection.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if your site is not on Wix. HaloSEO connects to the platform your site actually runs on, and a Wix connection will not publish to Squarespace, WordPress or a custom build. It is also not right if you want to approve every word before it goes live and are not willing to use the Wix editor or the HaloSEO review step to do it. And it is not right if you need posts to appear on a schedule that Wix itself does not support.
