Competitor Tracking for Custom API

HaloSEO watches which sites rank for your subjects and what pages they have. It turns the gap into planned articles, then publishes them on your Custom API site.

How HaloSEO connects to Custom API

You connect your site through the Custom API. HaloSEO needs permission to read your published content and to create and update posts. It uses that access to see what you already cover and to publish new articles. No other permission is needed. You can revoke access at any time from your Custom API settings, and publishing stops when you do.

What the published post looks like on a Custom API site

Posts are published through the Custom API, so they render in your own theme. Headings, body text, images and links use your site's templates and styles. There is no separate HaloSEO layer on the page and no badge. Readers see an article that looks like the rest of your site, because it is served by your site.

What happens on Custom API that does not happen elsewhere

On Custom API, HaloSEO writes through the API rather than through a plugin or a hosted editor. That means the content lands as native posts in your own system, and your existing fields and templates apply. The competitor research runs the same way as everywhere else: it watches which sites rank for your subjects and what they have pages for, and turns the gap into planned articles. The output is the next set of subjects, not a dashboard to read.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If your API credentials expire or are revoked, publishing stops. HaloSEO cannot create or update posts until access is restored. If your API changes its endpoints or field names, new posts may fail to publish or may land without some fields filled. If your site is down, the publish call fails and HaloSEO retries later. In each case the planned subjects stay in the queue, and nothing is published to a place you did not connect.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want a dashboard to read. HaloSEO does not produce one. The output is the next set of subjects and the articles built from them. It is also not right for you if you need a guaranteed ranking, a set position, a traffic number or a date. We do not control search engines and we do not promise any of those.
