AI Blog Writer for WordPress

HaloSEO connects to your WordPress site, writes the posts, and publishes them for you. This page explains the connection, the permissions, and what happens when something breaks.

How HaloSEO connects to WordPress

You add your site in HaloSEO and approve the connection from inside your WordPress admin. HaloSEO uses the WordPress REST API with an application password tied to a user account you choose. That account needs the ability to create and edit posts, upload media and set categories and tags. It does not need to change themes, plugins, users or site settings. You can revoke the application password at any time from your WordPress profile, and the connection stops immediately.

What the published post looks like

Posts are published as normal WordPress posts. They use your active theme, your fonts, your header and footer, and your post template. Images are uploaded to your media library and attached to the post. Categories and tags are set from the ones that already exist on your site, or created if you allow it. There is no separate HaloSEO page and no embed. A reader cannot tell the post came from HaloSEO unless you tell them.

What happens on WordPress that does not happen elsewhere

WordPress gives HaloSEO a direct publishing path. Posts go live on your domain, under your permalinks, in your sitemap. Internal links are written into the post body and point at your existing pages and posts. HaloSEO reads your published content to decide what to link to and what to write next. On a platform without this access, publishing is a manual export and upload, and internal linking has to be done by hand.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The most common failure is a revoked or expired application password. When that happens, publishing stops and HaloSEO flags the site in your dashboard. Nothing is published half finished. If your host blocks the REST API, the connection test fails at setup and you see the error before any post is written. If a theme update changes how posts render, the post still publishes, but you should check the first one after a theme change. If a scheduled post fails, HaloSEO retries and then reports it. We do not claim a fix time we have not measured.

Who this is not right for

This is not for you if you want to approve every sentence before it goes live. HaloSEO publishes on a schedule. It is not for sites where the REST API is locked down and cannot be opened. It is not for WordPress.com free plans, which do not allow application passwords. And it is not a replacement for a person deciding what your business should say. If you need full editorial control over every word, use a writer and publish by hand.
