Competitor Tracking for WordPress
HaloSEO tracks the sites that compete with you on Google and in AI search, then publishes posts on your WordPress site that answer them. Here is how the connection works and what it does.
How HaloSEO connects to WordPress
You add your site in HaloSEO and approve a connection to WordPress. HaloSEO needs permission to create and edit posts, upload media, and set categories and tags. It does not need access to your users, your plugins, your theme files or your settings. You can revoke the connection from your WordPress admin at any time, and HaloSEO stops publishing the moment you do.
What a published post looks like
Posts are published through the normal WordPress editor, so they use your theme. Headings, paragraphs, lists, images and internal links all render in your site's own styles. There is no separate HaloSEO template and no widget on your pages. If your theme styles a post a certain way, the new post looks the same as the ones you wrote yourself.
What happens on WordPress that does not happen elsewhere
WordPress gives HaloSEO a live view of your site. It reads your existing posts and pages so new posts link to real URLs on your site. It reads your categories and tags so posts land in the right place. It sees your permalink structure so links resolve. On a platform HaloSEO cannot read, it has to guess at these things. On WordPress it does not guess.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
Connections can drop. A plugin update, a password change or a host migration can cut the link. When that happens HaloSEO stops publishing and flags the site in your dashboard. It does not retry blindly and it does not publish to a broken connection. Posts already live stay live. Once you reconnect, publishing resumes from where it stopped. If a post fails to publish, HaloSEO records the error and shows it to you rather than silently skipping it.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want to approve every word before it goes live. HaloSEO publishes on its own schedule. It is also not right for sites that block the WordPress REST API, or for sites where you cannot grant editor permissions. And it is not a replacement for a person who writes your brand voice. It writes SEO posts. If your homepage copy needs a human, keep the human.
