Automatic Blog Publishing for Google Analytics

HaloSEO writes the post and publishes it to your site on a schedule. This page explains how that works when your site runs on Google Analytics.

How HaloSEO connects to Google Analytics

HaloSEO does not log in to Google Analytics to publish. Publishing happens on your own site, through the connection you set up between HaloSEO and your site. Google Analytics is a measurement tool. It reads traffic and reports on it. It does not store posts and it does not serve pages. So the permission HaloSEO needs is on your site, not on your analytics account. You give HaloSEO a way to publish to your site, and you keep your Google Analytics account as it is. If you want HaloSEO to read your analytics data, that is a separate read only permission you grant yourself. We do not claim an integration with Google Analytics beyond what is described here.

What the published post looks like on a Google Analytics site

The post goes live on your site in your site's own theme. It uses your templates, your fonts, your colours and your layout. The picture is already on it. The internal links are already in it. The metadata, including the title and the description, is already set. There is no draft sitting in a queue and no approval step. When the post is written, it is live. Readers see a finished page, not a placeholder. Your Google Analytics tag fires on that page the same way it fires on your other pages, because the page is part of your site.

What happens on Google Analytics that does not happen elsewhere

On a site measured by Google Analytics, every published post shows up in your reports as a page with its own sessions, sources and behaviour. You can see which posts bring people in and what those people do next. That feedback loop is the point. HaloSEO researches keywords, writes the posts, links them up and builds backlinks. Google Analytics tells you what happened after that. It does not tell you what will rank, and we do not claim it does. It reports on traffic you already have.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If the connection between HaloSEO and your site drops, publishing stops. Posts already live stay live. Posts not yet written are not written until the connection is restored. If your site's theme changes in a way that removes the templates HaloSEO publishes into, a post can go out without the layout you expect, so check the first post after a redesign. If your Google Analytics tag is removed or misconfigured, your reports go quiet, but publishing is not affected, because the two are separate. We do not promise that any post will rank, hold a position or bring a set amount of traffic. Search engines decide that, not us.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want to review every post before it goes live. There is no draft queue and no approval step. The post is live when it is written. It is also not right for you if you need a fixed number of visitors or a ranking by a set date. We do not control search engines and we will not promise that. And it is not right for you if your site cannot accept published posts through a connection, because then there is nothing for HaloSEO to publish to.
