AI Search Optimization for Shopify
HaloSEO connects to your Shopify store, researches keywords, writes posts, publishes them in your theme and builds links. This page explains how the Shopify side works.
How HaloSEO connects to Shopify
You install the HaloSEO app from the Shopify App Store and approve the access request. HaloSEO asks for permission to read your products, collections and pages, and to create and edit blog posts and articles. It does not need access to orders, customers or payment details, and it does not ask for them. The connection uses Shopify's own app permissions, so you can see and revoke access at any time from your Shopify admin.
What a published post looks like
HaloSEO publishes through the Shopify blog system, so posts use your theme's article template. Headings, images, links and formatting render the way the rest of your blog renders. Nothing is injected into your storefront and no separate hosted page is created. If you change your theme later, the posts follow the new theme like any other article.
What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere
Shopify stores have product and collection pages that already carry commercial intent, and HaloSEO can link posts to those pages using your real product handles and collection URLs. It reads your catalogue so the internal links point at pages that exist. Blog content also sits on the same domain as your store, so the links and the authority stay in one place rather than splitting across two sites.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
If you uninstall the app or revoke permissions, publishing stops. Posts already published stay on your store, because they are ordinary Shopify articles and belong to you. If a product is deleted or its handle changes, a link in an older post can point at a missing page. HaloSEO checks links against your catalogue when it publishes, but it does not rewrite old posts on its own. If the connection drops, HaloSEO retries and shows the failure in your dashboard rather than publishing a partial post.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want to approve every sentence before it goes live, or if your blog is run by someone else who owns the editorial calendar. It is also not right for stores with no blog and no plan to use one, or for stores that sell products HaloSEO cannot describe accurately from the catalogue data alone.
