Content Calendar for Shopify

A content calendar for a Shopify store has to fit the way Shopify works. Here is how HaloSEO connects, what it publishes, and what happens when something breaks.

How HaloSEO connects to Shopify

You install the HaloSEO app from the Shopify App Store and approve the access request. HaloSEO needs permission to read your products, collections and theme, and to create and publish blog articles. It does not need access to orders, customers or payment details, and it does not ask for them. The connection is made once. After that, HaloSEO writes to your store through the Shopify API using the access you granted, and you can revoke it at any time from your Shopify admin.

What the published post looks like

Posts are published as Shopify blog articles, not as a separate site or a hosted page. They use your theme. The header, footer, navigation, fonts and colours are the ones your store already has, so a reader cannot tell the post was written elsewhere. HaloSEO fills the article title, body, handle, tags and SEO fields, and sets a featured image. You can edit any post in the Shopify editor afterwards, and your edits stay.

What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere

Shopify stores sell things, so the calendar is built around what you sell. HaloSEO reads your products and collections and plans posts that can link to them. Internal links point at product and collection pages, not just at other articles. Blog articles live under your store domain, so the links and the authority stay on the same site. The calendar also respects your store's existing blog structure, so new posts land in the blog you choose rather than creating a new one.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If you uninstall the app or revoke access, publishing stops. Posts already live stay live, because they are your content in your store. If your theme changes, published posts keep working, though a new theme may change how they look. If a scheduled post fails to publish, HaloSEO records the failure and retries, and the post stays in the calendar as unpublished rather than disappearing. If a product a post links to is deleted, the link will break, and HaloSEO flags it on the next check so you can fix or remove it.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want to write every post yourself and only need a planning tool. It is not right for you if your store is on a platform other than Shopify and you do not plan to move. It is not right for you if you need approval from a lawyer or a brand team on every sentence before it goes live, because HaloSEO publishes on a schedule. And it is not right for you if you expect a fixed ranking or a fixed timeframe, because we do not promise either.
