Local SEO for Shopify
Local search on Shopify works differently from local search on other platforms. Here is how HaloSEO handles it, and where it stops.
How HaloSEO connects to Shopify
You install the HaloSEO app from the Shopify App Store and approve the access request. HaloSEO asks for permission to read your products, collections and pages, and to create and publish blog posts. It does not ask for orders, customers or payment data. The connection runs through Shopify's own app permission screen, so you can see the exact scopes before you approve them, and you can remove the app at any time from your Shopify admin.
What a published post looks like on your store
HaloSEO writes into the Shopify blog that you choose. The post uses your theme's own article template, so it carries your header, footer, fonts and colours. Nothing is injected as a separate page or an iframe. Images are uploaded to your Shopify files and the post is set to published or scheduled, depending on what you pick. If your theme has a custom article layout, the post follows it.
What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere
Shopify handles URLs and redirects in its own way. Blog posts sit under a blog handle, and changing that handle later breaks existing links. HaloSEO reads the handle before it writes and keeps to it. Shopify also limits how much content you can edit in bulk, so HaloSEO publishes one post at a time and checks the result before moving on. Product and collection pages are read only, used to keep the writing accurate about what you sell.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
The most common failure is a revoked app permission. When that happens, publishing stops and HaloSEO flags the connection in your dashboard. It does not retry in a loop. If a theme change removes the article template, posts still publish but may look wrong, and HaloSEO reports the theme change so you can check. If Shopify rate limits a publish, the post is queued and tried again later. You get a record of every failure, not a silent gap.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you sell only in person and have no store content to rank, or if you want to hand write and approve every sentence before it goes live. HaloSEO publishes on a schedule. If you need a person to sign off on each post, use a writer instead. It is also not right if you need local ranking guarantees, because we do not make them.
