Image Generation for Squarespace
HaloSEO makes the images that go with your posts and puts them into your Squarespace pages. Here is how the connection works and what to expect.
How HaloSEO connects to Squarespace
You connect your Squarespace site once, from your HaloSEO account. Squarespace gives HaloSEO an access token through its own authorisation screen, and you approve it there. The token lets HaloSEO read your site structure and create and update blog posts and the images inside them. It does not let HaloSEO change your billing, your domains or your other Squarespace settings. You can revoke the token from your Squarespace account at any time, and publishing stops as soon as you do.
What a published post looks like on your site
HaloSEO publishes through the Squarespace blog collection, so the post uses your theme. Headings, body text, links and images all take on the fonts, colours and spacing you already set. Generated images are uploaded to your Squarespace asset library and placed in the post body at the sizes your theme expects. Nothing is rendered on our side. If you change your theme later, the post changes with it.
What happens on Squarespace that does not happen elsewhere
Squarespace stores images in its own asset library, and HaloSEO uploads there rather than linking to files on another host. That means your images are served from your own domain and survive if you ever leave HaloSEO. Squarespace also handles image resizing and delivery through its own CDN, so the same image is served at the right size on desktop and mobile without extra work from you. Scheduled posts go through the Squarespace scheduler, so publish times follow your site's timezone settings.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
The most common failure is an expired or revoked token. When that happens, HaloSEO stops publishing and flags the connection in your dashboard. It does not retry in a loop and it does not publish a partial post. If an image upload fails, the post is held rather than published without its images. If Squarespace is down or rate limiting, the job is queued and retried later. Every failure is logged with the reason, and you can reconnect or republish from the dashboard.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you run a Squarespace site on a plan that does not include blog collections, because there is nowhere for HaloSEO to publish. It is also not right for you if you want to approve every image by hand before it goes live, since HaloSEO publishes on its own schedule. And it is not right for you if you need images of real people, real products or your own photography, because HaloSEO generates images rather than sourcing them.
