WordPress Integration for Wix

HaloSEO publishes to Wix through the Wix connection. This page explains how the connection works, what a post looks like on your site, and what to expect when something fails.

How HaloSEO connects to Wix

You connect your Wix site from the HaloSEO dashboard. The connection uses Wix's own app and API access, so you approve it while signed in to your Wix account. HaloSEO asks for permission to create and edit blog posts, read your site's theme and layout settings, and add internal links between posts. It does not ask for billing access, store orders, member data or the ability to delete your site. You can revoke the connection from your Wix account at any time, and publishing stops as soon as you do.

What a published post looks like on a Wix site

HaloSEO writes into the Wix Blog app, so posts use your existing blog layout, fonts, colours and header. The post appears as a normal Wix Blog post with a title, body copy, headings, images and a meta description. It shows in your blog feed and in your site search. Internal links point to other posts and pages on your site. Nothing is published in a separate HaloSEO template or a third party page. If your theme has custom post layouts, the post follows them.

What happens on Wix that does not happen elsewhere

Wix keeps its own blog routing and sitemap, so HaloSEO works within those rules rather than replacing them. Posts are scheduled through the Wix Blog scheduler, which means the publish time you see in Wix is the publish time that counts. Wix also handles the post URL structure, so slugs follow your blog settings. If you use Wix multilingual, HaloSEO publishes to the language version you select. These are Wix behaviours, and HaloSEO follows them instead of overriding them.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The most common failure is an expired or revoked connection. When that happens, HaloSEO stops publishing and flags the post in your dashboard. It does not retry silently and it does not post twice. If Wix rejects a post because of a theme conflict or a missing blog app, the draft stays in HaloSEO with the error shown. Scheduled posts that fail are held, not skipped. You reconnect from the dashboard and the held posts resume. We do not promise a fix time we have not measured.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if your Wix site does not use the Wix Blog app, because there is nowhere for HaloSEO to publish. It is not right for you if you need every post hand edited before it goes live, since HaloSEO is built to publish on its own. It is also not right for you if you want to keep your current SEO plugin as the source of truth for meta tags, because Wix controls that layer and HaloSEO works within it.
