Image Generation for Google Analytics

HaloSEO draws a picture for each post from the article's own subject, in the style you chose, and hosts it on your own storage. This page covers how that works on a Google Analytics site.

How HaloSEO connects to Google Analytics

You connect your website to HaloSEO. For a Google Analytics site, that connection is read only. HaloSEO needs permission to read your site's theme, its pages and its published posts so it can match the look of the site and avoid clashing with what is already there. It does not need permission to change your analytics settings, your property configuration or your reports. Nothing in your Google Analytics account is edited by HaloSEO.

What the published post looks like on a Google Analytics site

The post is published in your site's own theme. Headings, body text, links and spacing follow the styles your theme already sets, so the page reads as part of the site rather than a separate template. The image sits where your theme places a featured image. If your theme has no featured image slot, the image is placed at the top of the post body. The image file is hosted on your own storage, not on ours.

What happens on Google Analytics that does not happen elsewhere

A Google Analytics site usually carries tracking scripts and consent banners on every page. HaloSEO reads the theme so the new post inherits those same scripts and the same banner, which means the post is measured the same way as the rest of your site. The image is served from your storage, so it loads from the same place as your other assets and does not add a third party request to the page.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If the connection to your site drops, publishing stops. Posts already live stay live. If your theme changes, the next post may not match until HaloSEO reads the theme again, and you can trigger that read. If your storage is full or refuses the upload, the post is held rather than published without its image. If the image model fails, the post is held and retried. We do not publish a post with a broken image.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want text inside the picture. The image model does not put text in the picture, so titles, labels and captions baked into an image are not something we do. It is also not right for you if you want a stock library to browse. HaloSEO draws one picture per post from that post's subject. And it is not right for you if you need the business name or any identifying detail inside the image, because we never send those to the image model.
