Google Search Console

Competitor Tracking for Google Search Console

HaloSEO watches which sites rank for your subjects and what they have pages for. It turns the gap into planned articles, so the next thing you publish is decided for you.

How HaloSEO connects to Google Search Console

You connect your site through Google's own sign in and consent screen. HaloSEO asks for read access to your Search Console property. That is the permission it needs to see which queries your site appears for and which pages Google shows. It does not ask for write access, and it does not change anything inside your Search Console account. You can revoke the connection from your Google account at any time, and the access ends there.

What the published post looks like on your site

HaloSEO publishes into your site's own theme. The post uses your templates, your header, your footer and your type. It is a normal page on your site, not a hosted page with our branding on it. Readers see your design. Google sees a page on your domain, in your structure, with your internal links pointing at it. Nothing about the page announces that a tool wrote it.

What happens on a Search Console site that does not happen elsewhere

Search Console gives HaloSEO the query data for your own property. That means the gap analysis starts from what Google already shows your site for, not from a guess about your market. HaloSEO compares that with the sites that rank for your subjects and the pages they have built. The output is the next set of subjects to write. It is not a dashboard to read. You get a plan, not a report.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If the connection drops, HaloSEO stops seeing new query data and the gap analysis goes stale. If your site changes theme or structure, published posts can lose their styling until the templates are checked. If a competitor blocks crawling, their pages drop out of the comparison and the gap narrows. When something breaks, HaloSEO keeps the last plan it produced and flags the connection. It does not publish on a broken connection.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want a dashboard to study. HaloSEO does not produce one. It is not right for you if you want to approve every subject before it is written, or if you want to keep publishing by hand and use a tool only for research. It is also not right for you if your site is not verified in Google Search Console, because the query data is where the work starts.
