Automatic Blog Publishing for Shopify
HaloSEO connects to your Shopify store, writes the posts, and publishes them into your own blog. Here is how the connection works and what to expect.
How HaloSEO connects to Shopify
You install the HaloSEO app from the Shopify App Store and approve the access request. HaloSEO asks for permission to read and write blog articles and to read your product and collection data. It does not ask for orders, customers or payment details. The connection uses Shopify's own app permissions, so you can revoke it at any time from your Shopify admin.
What the published post looks like
Posts are created as normal Shopify blog articles. They use your theme's article template, so the header, fonts, colours and layout match the rest of your site. HaloSEO fills the title, body, handle, tags, meta title and meta description. Images are uploaded to your Shopify files and set as the article image. Nothing is rendered by a separate script on your storefront.
What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere
Shopify has its own blog structure, so HaloSEO works within it. Posts are assigned to a blog you choose, and handles are set to avoid clashes with existing articles. Product and collection data is read so posts can link to the right pages on your store. Internal links point to live Shopify URLs, and the sitemap updates through Shopify when an article is published.
What breaks, and what happens when it does
If the app is uninstalled or its permissions are revoked, publishing stops. Posts already live stay live, because they are ordinary Shopify articles. If a theme change removes or renames the article template, new posts may look wrong until the theme is fixed. If a scheduled publish fails, HaloSEO retries and flags the article in your dashboard. We do not delete published posts without your instruction.
Who this is not right for
This is not right for you if you want to approve every sentence before it goes live, or if you run a store where blog content is written by a named person and must carry their voice. It is also not right for stores that cannot grant app permissions, or that publish on a platform other than Shopify. HaloSEO is a publishing system, not a copy editor for drafts you write yourself.
