Keyword Research for Shopify

HaloSEO connects to your Shopify store, researches the keywords your buyers search, writes the posts, and publishes them into your own theme. Here is how the Shopify side works.

How HaloSEO connects to Shopify

You install the HaloSEO app from the Shopify App Store and approve the access request. HaloSEO needs permission to read your products, collections and pages, and to create and publish blog posts. It does not need access to orders, customers or payment details, and it does not ask for them. The connection is a standard Shopify app install, so you can revoke it from your Shopify admin at any time.

What the published post looks like

HaloSEO publishes through the Shopify blog system, so posts render in your theme. They use your fonts, your header, your footer and your navigation. There is no HaloSEO wrapper and no separate hosted page. You can edit any post in the Shopify editor afterwards, and your edits stay. Posts appear in your sitemap and are indexable like any other page on the store.

What happens on Shopify that does not happen elsewhere

Shopify stores have product and collection pages that already carry commercial intent, so keyword research has to account for them. HaloSEO reads your catalogue and maps keywords to the pages you already have before it writes anything new. That means a post can be aimed at a question your product page cannot answer, and it can link to the collection it supports. Blog content and product content are planned together rather than as two separate jobs.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The common failures are a revoked app permission, a theme change that removes the blog template, and a store that has no blog set up yet. When publishing fails, HaloSEO stops and reports the error in the dashboard rather than retrying silently. Drafts stay in HaloSEO until the connection works again. If you uninstall the app, published posts remain on your store and stay yours.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for stores that sell in a language HaloSEO does not write, or that need every post approved by a legal team before it goes live. It is also not right for stores with no product pages yet, because the research depends on having a catalogue to map keywords against. If you want a tool that only suggests keywords for you to write from, this is more than that.
