Zapier

Backlink Builder for Zapier

HaloSEO publishes posts to your Zapier site and links them to each other. This page explains how the connection works, what the post looks like, and what happens when something breaks.

How HaloSEO connects to Zapier

You connect your Zapier site to HaloSEO once. The connection uses an API key or token that you create in your Zapier account and paste into HaloSEO. That key lets HaloSEO create and publish posts on your site and read your existing posts so it can place links between them. It does not give HaloSEO access to your billing, your customers or your other tools. You can revoke the key in Zapier at any time, and publishing stops as soon as you do.

What the published post looks like on a Zapier site

HaloSEO publishes through the same channel you use for your own posts, so the post renders in your site's own theme. Your fonts, colours, header, footer and layout apply. The post has a title, body copy, headings and any images the post needs. Links to your other published posts sit inside the body where they fit the sentence. Nothing is injected into your theme and no widget is added to the page.

What happens on Zapier that does not happen elsewhere

Zapier sites are built from pages and blocks, and the post is created as a normal page in that structure. That means your existing navigation, sitemap and URL pattern apply without extra setup. If your Zapier site uses a custom domain, posts publish on that domain. If it uses the default Zapier address, posts publish there. HaloSEO reads your published pages before it writes, so links point at pages that exist rather than at planned ones.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The common failures are an expired or revoked API key, a changed permission scope in Zapier, and a site that is temporarily unreachable. When a publish fails, HaloSEO retries, then marks the post as failed and shows the error in your dashboard. It does not publish a partial post. If the key is revoked, scheduled posts pause rather than queue up. You reconnect the key and the queue resumes. Link placement depends on your other posts being live, so a post you unpublish can leave a link pointing at a missing page. HaloSEO reports your backlink profile from a third party index every week, and that report will show the gap.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want outreach emails sent on your behalf. HaloSEO does not send outreach emails and does not contact anyone for you. It is not right for you if you want to buy links from a marketplace, because it does not do that. It is also not right for you if you need a guaranteed ranking, a set traffic number or a fixed date, because we do not control search engines and will not promise any of those.
