Zapier

Internal Link Builder for Zapier

HaloSEO links each new post to three to five of your earlier posts, on the phrase the target was written to rank for. This page covers how that works when your site runs on Zapier.

How HaloSEO connects to Zapier

You connect your Zapier site to HaloSEO once, from your HaloSEO account. The connection needs permission to create and edit posts on your site, and to read the posts you have already published. That read access is what lets HaloSEO find your earlier posts and choose which ones a new post should link to. HaloSEO does not need access to your billing, your customers or your settings. You can remove the connection from either side at any time, and publishing stops when you do.

What the published post looks like on a Zapier site

The post is published into your own Zapier theme. Headings, body text, images and links all use the styles your site already has, so a HaloSEO post sits next to your existing pages without a separate template. Internal links are placed inside the body text as normal links, on the phrase the target post was written to rank for. There is no badge, no footer credit and no block that marks the post as coming from HaloSEO.

What happens on Zapier that does not happen elsewhere

Zapier sites keep their pages in a structure HaloSEO reads before it writes. That means the link targets are chosen from pages that already exist on your site, not from a guess about your sitemap. When HaloSEO revisits an older post to link forward to a new one, it edits that older post in place through the same connection. Nothing is copied to a staging site and nothing is published twice.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

The connection can fail. A password change, a revoked permission or an outage on either side will stop HaloSEO from publishing or editing. When that happens, the post is held and the link pass is not run, so you do not get a half linked page. HaloSEO flags the failure in your account and retries when the connection is restored. If a link target is deleted or unpublished before the link is placed, that link is skipped and the rest of the pass continues. No link is placed where the sentence does not read naturally with it.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want links bought for you, or links pointed at sites HaloSEO does not publish to. It does not do either. It is also not right for you if you need a fixed number of links per post regardless of how the sentence reads, or a guaranteed position in Google by a set date. HaloSEO places a link only where it fits the sentence, and it does not control search engines.
