Squarespace Integration for Google Search Console

HaloSEO connects to your Squarespace site once and publishes finished posts to it. This page explains how that connection works and what it means for your Google Search Console setup.

How HaloSEO connects to Google Search Console

HaloSEO connects to your Squarespace site, not to Google Search Console directly. You authorise the connection once from your HaloSEO account. HaloSEO then needs permission to create and publish posts on your Squarespace site. It does not need access to your Google account, your Search Console property or your billing details. Search Console keeps working as it does now, and you keep full control of it.

What the published post looks like on your Squarespace site

The post is published to your Squarespace site as a normal post. It uses your site's own theme, so it looks like the rest of your content. It sits on your own domain, not on a HaloSEO subdomain. There is no plugin to install and no plugin to keep up to date. HaloSEO does not host the blog for you and does not change anything else on your Squarespace site.

What happens in Google Search Console that does not happen elsewhere

Search Console is where Google reports on how your site is seen. It shows which queries brought people to your pages, which pages were indexed, and any coverage problems Google found. HaloSEO does not read or write that data. You check Search Console yourself, as you do today. The difference is that new posts arrive on your own domain, so they can be picked up under the same property you already track.

What breaks, and what happens when it does

If the connection to Squarespace drops, publishing stops. HaloSEO does not publish anywhere else in the meantime. You reconnect from your HaloSEO account and publishing resumes. If a post fails to publish, it stays in HaloSEO and is not marked as live. If you change your Squarespace theme, published posts follow the new theme. If you remove HaloSEO's access, publishing stops until you grant it again.

Who this is not right for

This is not right for you if you want HaloSEO to host your blog. It does not. It is not right for you if you want a plugin you manage and update yourself. There is no plugin. It is not right for you if you expect HaloSEO to read your Search Console data, fix indexing issues or report on rankings for you. It does none of those things. It is also not right for you if your site is not on Squarespace.
